When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so bad
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…and my favorite time outside of my own birthday month (yes, I said “month”). I love to hear Christmas music and recently caught myself humming “My Favorite Things.” When I got to the end of the chorus, I smiled because I realized why this song resonates with me so well: it encourages us to meditate on positivity, irrespective of life’s current circumstance. This doesn’t mean to forget about everything, but it’s a reminder to focus on what makes us feel the most encouraged.
